The candidate is responsible for the planning and development of exhibitions and technology related education programmes (coding, drones, AR/VR, robotics, microcontroller, etc), organising and conducting of science programmes for school groups, workshops, and promotional activities. He/She is required to prepare, review and update exhibit plans, treatments, and specifications for the exhibits and look after the maintenance and proper functioning of the exhibits. In addition, he/she will write and prepare articles, pamphlets, handbooks, etc in connection with our exhibition, promotional and educational programmes.
The Technologist shall also be responsible for the management and upkeep of IT facilities. He/She shall communicate IR4.0 related science concepts clearly to the general public through shows, activities, tours, talks and science demonstrations in the galleries. He/She shall research, develop, plan and promote new public programmes in the galleries (shows and demonstrations); craft teaching resources (lessons, demos, presentations, worksheets, etc) for exhibitions; and facilitate science activities for workshops and promotional events and conduct outreach programmes. The potential candidate has to perform weekend duties (including public holidays) as and when required and other duties as directed.
The ideal candidate should possess at least a good degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology or its equivalent coupled with a dynamic personality. A degree in Science with Education and/or prior experience in education with younger children would be an advantage. Other essential attributes include good event and time management skills, and the ability to work independently and is a good team player. Background in theatre/drama/event management will be considered an asset. Must possess excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills. Candidates with strong IT skills would be ideal.
